Data for the validation

Write your name.
This information is optional, but it is useful if you will want to return to your work later.
Write the address of the page to be tested.
Use a complete URI to identify the page.
For example: http://www.sidar.org/index.php.
Choose the order of presentation for the checkpoints from the Accessibility Guidelines:
  • Numbering: All the checkpoints in their numerical order.
  • Elements: All the checkpoints, grouped according to types of structure.
  • Priority 1: Only the checkpoints of priority 1.
  • Priority 2: Only the checkpoints of priority 2.
  • Priority 3: Only the checkpoints of priority 3.
(You can change this ordering preference later.)
Use the button "Start" to continue.
If there are no errors in the data, the page will open to choose each checkpoint for evaluation.

Note: Before beginning the work, HERA will check that it is possible to open the page indicated. If not, it will re-present the first form, asking for the information to be corrected.

    • icono con el logo de Sidar. Tools identified with Sidarīs icon consist, most of them, in cascade stylesheets (CSS) applied to the chosen page in order make the review easier. It indicates in each case the elements identified with the CSS.
    • W3C logo icon. To review some checkpoints, HERA connects directly with W3C validation tools, the document sintax validator and the CSSī validator.
    • Cynthia logo icon. To review some checkpoints, HERA connects directly to Cynthia, which is prepared to simplify those reviews.
    • Magnifier. For some checkpoints a magnifier is shown and the "visual" text. It indicates the only way to review that checkpoint is by watching those elements in the page.
  2. if it appears the Remove Authorīs style option it menas that, besides applying HERA review Stylesheet, if this checkbox is marked, author-defined styles will be removed from page.
Depending on the case, this option could help to identify the elements that need to be reviewed (for example, invisible images) or avoid elements with absolute positions to flap with the CSS messages.
  3. Complementary tools:
    • Show original pageDisplays in a new window the page as it was originally designed by its author. This can be useful tho check naviagation issues and dynamic elements in general.
    • Page source (original). In some cases itīs necessary to analyse the code of the page being reviewd. This option displays the code without modifications, numbering each line of the file.
    • Page source (formatted). Similar to the previous option, but using different background colors and layers to simplify the identifications of structural elements (this operation tends to delay more than the other one).

The views of the original page or the source will open in a new window as it will be necessary to make comparisons.

About HERA-XP

Hera-XP screenshotHERA-XP is a limited HERA, meant for someone who needs to test one or two checkpoints, but does not need a report, nor to do a full evaluation of a page or site.

In this version, you simply provide the page address (URI), click the button "Accept", and follow the same procedure as with HERA.

HERA-XP offers the same options and functionalities as its big sister, but does not keep any results, and so cannot generate a report.

Don't count on the instructions button, because the tool is designed for people who are familiar with the way Hera functions. The procedural instructions are the same as in Hera. @@CMN: I think we should reconsider this decision@@
